ZeniMax Online Makes Elder Scrolls Online Temporarily Free to Play
Alongside the free play event for The Elder Scrolls Online, ZeniMax Online has made a bite sized version of Greymoor for new fans to enjoy. Greymoor is the most recent expansion for ESO, bringing the Dark Heart of Skyrim to The Elder Scrolls MMO. The free play event lasts from today until April 13th, with the prologue of Greymoor available to everyone. The Elder Scrolls Online is available for PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC now, with the full Greymoor chapter releasing May 18th for PC and June 2nd for consoles.
Accompanying the free play event for The Elder Scrolls Online, ZeniMax Online is reducing the cost of the base edition of the game and the Elsweyr edition for each platform. As part of the free play event, gamers will have access to the ESO base game, including four of the game’s original classes and 23 zones. Gamers who decide to pre-purchase The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor Standard Edition or Digital Collector’s Edition will instantly gain access to Morrowind, Summerset and Elsweyr Chapters if they aren’t already ESO fans.
According to ZeniMax Online, gamers who want to start their perilous journey into the Dark Heart of Skyrim will have to “use the free Quest Starter, titled ‘Prologue Quest: The Coven Conspiracy,’ from the in-game Crown Store. You must then travel to the Fighter’s Guild in Daggerfall, Davon’s Watch, or Vulkhel Guard (depending on your Alliance) and talk to Lyris Titanborn to accept the first of two quests, titled ‘The Coven Conspiracy.'” While the prologue only includes two missions, it’ll likely give gamers a taste of what to expect from the upcoming ESO expansion.
