Infinity Ward Teasing Modern Warfare Fans With Warzone Reference
As part of a recent content update for Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward included a reference to Warzone in the Tomogunchi bundle description. Warzone is the heavily rumored name for an unreleased battle royale mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare which is apparently the hidden “classified” mode added with season 2. The Tomogunchi bundle includes a watch that is inspired by Tamagotchi, with the main difference being the digital pet feeding on kills instead of food. The recent update came to Xbox One, PS4 and PC days ago and it came with the typical playlist updates on top of the Tomogunchi watch.
When gamers downloaded the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update, they were quickly met with the new Tomogunchi bundle which is available to purchase for 1,000 CoD Points. This means the digital pet watch will cost roughly $9.99 for the FPS gamers who want company on the battlefield. Specifically, the description of the bundle said “dinosaurs, fire-breathing dragons and an evolving watch that will have you gaming the warzone.” The wording here seems very intentional, with Infinity Ward coming off as cheeky with Call of Duty fans getting impatient waiting for the potential battle royale mode.
Some of the other changes that were part of the recent content update include the Dirty Old House Boat playlist being replaced by Shoot the Ship, a playlist that cycles through Shoothouse and Shipment game modes. 3v3 Gunfight has replaced Gunfight 3v3 Snipers Only, Boots on the Ground War is back and Giant Infected was removed to be adjusted. Finally, the Uzi got some attention with the update but it still isn’t an essential gun for feeding your new Tomogunchi.
Are you sick of the references and want to just drop in on Warzone already? Will you be getting the Tomogunchi bundle? Let us know in the comments below!
