A New Legend & Sniper Rifle Have Unveiled for Apex Legends Season 4
Respawn Entertainment has showed off new details for the upcoming season for Apex Legends on their official website, including a new legends joining the roster and a new sniper rifle to loot. The new battle pass includes tons of new cosmetic content, updates to ranked and the first anniversary of Apex. The name of the hulking new legend is Forge, while the powerful new sniper rifle is called the Sentinel. The anniversary event will include free gear for fans of the game who login for it. Season 4: Assimilation launches on February 4th for Xbox One, PC and PS4.
Apex Legends will be having it’s tri-monthly season refresh at the beginning of February and Season 4: Assimilation will likely bring lapsed players back to try out the new Legend and locate the new sniper rifle. According to executive producer of Apex Legends, Drew McCoy, the Sentinel feels more powerful and “it’s a little different than our other sniper rifles.” Forge apparently uses his size, strength and “heavy-duty Shatter Gauntlets” to destroy his opponent. This suggests that the new Legend Forge will be a tank that focuses on melee power with his ultimate ability.
Over 100 exclusive items will be coming to the season 4 battle pass, including Apex Packs, Loading Screens, Music Packs, the coveted legendary skins and more. Previous battle passes have struggled to deliver to gamers and revenue has reflected this in previous quarters so Respawn is likely looking to avoid that with more quality content. Multiple free gifts will be given to all Apex Legends gamers that log in during their anniversary rant, such as an origami red dragon weapon charm that was revealed.
