Predator: Hunting Grounds Gets a Female Predator and a Release Date
During the most recent PlayStation State of Play, developers IllFonic announced the launch date of Predator: Hunting Grounds of April 24th, 2020. With the addition of the female hunter to the game, we now know where baby Predators come from. In addition to the standard Predator arsenal of heat vision in shoulder mounted missile launchers, IllFonic created a unique bow for the female Predator known as the Yautja Bow which will pin enemies to walls and structures. Predator: Hunting Grounds will be exclusive to the PS4 when it releases in April.
Although the wrist blades and plasma caster have been shown off at other events, IllFonic showed off new Predator technology during the State of Play trailer such as the Smart Disc and the Combistick. The Smart Disc will shoot from the Predator and rebound from one victim to another as it takes them out. The Combistick extends to become a spear which is both useful in close combat or from a distance in combat but it may be used to traverse the landscape as well. We’re looking forward to seeing the rest of the Predator arsenal when the game releases early next year.
In efforts to make the Predator feel more personal to gamers, IllFonic offers three customizable Predator classes: the Hunter, the Scout and the savage Berserker. Gamers will be able to alter each unique class’ arsenal, but each change will have strengths and weaknesses just like the classes. The Hunter is apparently the most balanced killer, the Berserker is strong and capable of taking massive damage and the Scout is the most agile and best at quickly stalk their prey. Gamers will also be able to alter the appearance of their Predator by changing the armor design they wear in-game.
