What in Samhain?!
Summer Games Fest is stealing all the headlines today, so you might not see anything not in the show. For Ghostbusters fans, IllFonic has announced news concerning their most recent game Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. The Ecto Edition will be available later this year.
The Ecto Edition is probably IllFonic’s “definitive” edition for their game, though they have not released information about what exactly that is. There are a few things we can glean from the teaser they released earlier today. Number one; Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will be coming to Nintendo Switch this year. It is unclear if the update and the Switch port will launch at the same time, since we have no release date for either yet.
Secondly, the Ecto Edition will be adding new content in some form. The teaser ends with… well, another teaser. An orange, long-nailed hand scratched the hood of the Ecto 1.

For those who do not know, that hand belongs to a ghost called Samhain. Samhain was introduced to Ghostbusters canon in the TV show Real Ghostbusters. He is known as the Ghost of Halloween and somewhat of a fearsome figure, even to other ghosts.
Samhain has the power to halt the flow of time, which he wants to use to plunge the world into eternal night. Someone should tell him about the Earth orbiting the Sun though.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.
