The Power of Family
No pun intended, but Sega has been moving pretty fast with Sonic these past couple of years. With Sonic Frontiers still getting ongoing support and DLC, they just announced a new game called Sonic Superstars at Summer Games Fest.
If the 3D open world game wasn’t your speed, you might prefer the 2D side-scrollers. Sonic Origins Plus has many of the older games, but Sonic Superstars is a brand new title inspired by the classics. It has a visual 3D style, but mostly remains in a 2D format, like the earlier Sonic games.
Players can play with up to three others locally, as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy. The zones we see in the trailer range from classic areas to cyber dimensions. Different zones also appear to have different ability gimmicks, like turning into a cyber squid or wall-running in the background. The variety of levels also affects the visual design of your characters.

Sonic Superstars will be coming out in the Fall of 2023. It will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
