Capcom Has Registered Several New Trademarks Including Dino Crisis
Capcom recently registered several new trademarks of classic titles such as Dino Crisis and Power Stone. The developers that are part of Capcom have recently succeeded in revitalizing the Resident Evil franchise with Resident Evil 7 but changed everything when they rebuild Resident Evil 2 from the ground up. Resident Evil 2 became a testiment to remakes of classic games and it looks like Capcom wants to give other classic franchises the same treatment. Considering Resident Evil 2 was considered a game of the year with many people, despite being a remake, whatever series they visit next will likely blow minds all over again.
The following is the current list of Capcom trademarks that were recently registered:
- King of Dragons
- Vulgus
- Capcom Fighting Jam
- Vampire
- Battle Circuit
- Breath of Fire
- Captain Commando
- Cyberbots
- Dino Crisis
- Rockman
- Magic Sword
- VARTH Operation Thunderstorm
- Ultimate Ecology
- Block Block
- Muscle Bomber
- Mad Gear
- Last Duel
- Black Dragon
- Section Z
- Higemaru
- War-Zard
- Quiz & Dragons
- Powered Gear
- Bionic Commando
- Power Stone
- Mega Man
- Darkstalkers
With so many titles being trademarked, we’re unsure with where Capcom will start but our money is on a new Dino Crisis or a remake of the original because Dinosaurs never go out of style. Many fans are itching for a new Power Stone game but we’re more interested to see what the developers would do with a modern take on Breath of Fire or Battle Circuit. Capcom Fighting Jam sounds like it would mimic titles such as Super Smash Bros. or PlayStation All-Stars while a new Mega Man title would likely follow the classic formula continued with Mega Man 11.
Whatever Capcom has cooking up, it’ll likely be for next-gen at this point. Which of the Capcom registered trademarks interests you the most and why? Which game would you like to see the Resident Evil 2 treatment? Let us know in the comments below!
