Metro Exodus Looks Bigger Than We Thought in This New Video

This Is Why It Took So Long

Metro Exodus is just around the corner, so it’s a good idea to gather as much info about the wasteland as possible. On the eve of February, the game has received yet another trailer, except this one is longer than the rest.

Metro Exodus

Though they’ve released a few trailers before today, like the weapons showcase, none of them provided extensive coverage of the story and related nuance. There may be more depth to the game than we originally thought, starting with the narrative. The emphasis on exploration goes beyond any previous installment, yet the developer denies any fetch quests. According to the trailer, “Metro Exodus – Uncovered,” everything you do matters.

As advertised, the game is the tale of an exodus. Players will travel with a colorful cast of characters and explore a variety of landscapes with day/night cycles. Since the locations present wide open areas, you’re free to explore at your own pace. Night time brings more dangers, while the weather can invoke more hazards—part of what makes this sequel so dynamic compared to its predecessors.

The footage below highlights several aspects of traveling with a crew, including relationships and decision-making. Cinematic storytelling remains a core pillar of the series, alongside combat and survival. More than previous coverage, we get a look at survival and the ways in which players must adapt to new circumstances. The items you can craft play a pivotal role with each encounter. If that’s that case, there’s no telling how decisions will impact each arc of the story.

Metro Exodus launches for Xbox One, PS4, and PC via Epic Games Store on February 15, 2019.
