You Can Reach Center of No Man’s Sky’s Universe in 30 Hours, Says Early Player

An early player of No Man’s Sky finds a way to finish it surprisingly fast

Well, you’ve probably heard about that one guy who paid ridiculous money to be able to play No Man’s Sky early. Say what you will about the wisdom of such a purchase, now that he has the game, and has been playing it, his insights into its features are something many fans are curious about. Now, he has apparently been giving tidbits on Reddit, and among other revelations, he claims that players could reach the center of No Man’s Sky’s much-hyped massive universe in “around 25-30 hours.”

How? The player, who goes by Reddit user name “daymeeuhn,” says that players could exploit a resource-farming method to get to the center pretty quickly. Here is an excerpt of his comments posted on Reddit (with thanks to PCInvasion.com):

“Around 25-30 hours. I’m about halfway there. 30% of the 100% distance has been just from the last few hours alone. With a YouTube video explaining how to do this I think someone could reach the center in no time, 20-30 hours easy.

“They have implemented some questionable design choices that allow you to essentially “farm” Warp Fuel in an endless pattern and just continuously warp at will almost nonstop, if you so desire to take advantage of it. I dunno if this was intentional, or if they just didn’t care, or if HG doesn’t actually have min/max gamers on their testing team to identify this stuff or what but I figured it out rather quickly and I’ve managed to jump pretty far in just a few hours of doing it.”

Now, with the game still new and not even released yet, it could be an oversight on the part of the devs that could very easily be nerfed in a quick launch update. If so, this leaked information might actually be some valuable feedback that could improve the game. As for us here at COGconnected, we see this game as being about the fun of exploration, and so even if there are tricks to get you to “the end” sooner, we’d probably not even want to use them. But hey, that’s just us.

But if you are interested in finding out how this trick works, you can check out the full Reddit thread here. WARNING though, it’s obviously massively spoiler-y.

No Man’s Sky comes out officially on August 9th for the PS4 (but that feels like much longer for those like us who are waiting).
