One of my personal favorites of the series, Tales of Vesperia had a more mature feel to it than previous titles I’ve experienced. In addition, a great cast of characters and battle system really made this title stand out to me. Unfortunately, the PS3 version with additional characters never made it out West.

Sequels are often called “bigger and better” than their predecessor. It’s become a bit of a cliche to say, but when it comes to Portal 2, I find that it describes my feelings for it pretty damn accurately. Portal 2 takes you on an unforgettable experience that will make your head spin in all the right ways with inventive puzzles and awesome level design. Oh, it’s also one of the funniest games I’ve ever played, so extra points for that.

My first PlayStation 3 game was also one of the best I’ve ever played. While many know of the series now, going into it blind with my brothers after we unboxed our PS3 was the beginning of dozens of hours of co-operative bliss. The tools and user-created levels are an infinite ocean of fun.
That does it for number 8 but tune in tomorrow for our number 7 selections! As always, we’d love to hear your picks in the comments below!
