Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL 8KHz Esports Green Keyboard Review – Green With Gaming Envy

Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL 8KHz Esports Green Review

Earlier this year, I spent some time with the Huntsman V3 Pro Low-Profile 8KHz, and it left an impressive impression. Razer now has another juicy contender in its Huntsman lineup. The Huntsman V3 Pro TKL 8KHz Esports Green takes much of what made the Low-Profile model so impressive and delivers it in a more traditional package. And honestly, that striking green finish alone is enough to make it worth a second look.

I won’t get into all the nuts and bolts of this keyboard, as its performance and features are identical to the other model. Instead, I encourage readers to check out my previous review if they’re looking for a deeper dive into what makes the Huntsman V3 Pro so impressive. The Esports Green edition is built around the Huntsman V3 Pro TKL 8KHz platform, so it’s all about that same competitive-focused technology in a compact tenkeyless layout. It’s a familiar formula, but one that continues to work exceptionally well.

Super Bowl Energy

Naturally, the first thing that jumps out about this keyboard is its Esports Green finish. It reminds me of those gorgeous, albeit over-the-top, Seahawks Colour Rush jerseys. Razer has never been shy about making gaming hardware that stands out, but this bad boy feels especially distinctive. It gives the Huntsman a personality that separates it from the endless parade of black keyboards. Paired with Razer Chroma RGB lighting, it looks fantastic and adds a little character to any gaming setup.

Having recently spent time with Razer’s low-profile Huntsman, the biggest difference here is apparent. The Esports Green is a traditional full-height keyboard design, complete with Razer’s Analog Optical Switches Gen-2. While I appreciated the low-profile model’s more ergonomic approach, there’s something familiar and satisfying about returning to a conventional keyboard layout.

The switches offer adjustable actuation from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm, which gives folks more control over how their keys respond. As I noted in my previous Huntsman review, Razer’s analog optical technology delivers exceptionally responsive inputs, and that experience carries over here. The keys feel smooth, consistent, and incredibly quick to react.

The textured doubleshot PBT keycaps are another welcome touch. They provide a satisfying feel and should hold up much better than cheaper alternatives. Meanwhile, the aluminum top plate gives the keyboard a premium feel without making it look overly flashy.

If you’ve read my previous Huntsman V3 Pro review, you’ll already know how impressed I was with Razer’s Rapid Trigger implementation. The same technology returns here, and it’s every bit as useful for competitive gaming.

Razer Snap Tap is also onboard, allowing folks to prioritize their latest directional input without having to release the previous key. It’s particularly useful for quick directional adjustments. Just a word of caution: certain input-priority features aren’t permitted in every competitive game, so it’s worth checking the rules before taking advantage of them.

Speed Demons, Take the Wheel

The 8000Hz HyperPolling rate is another major selling point. Razer claims an impressive 0.58 ms latency, and while those numbers are difficult to appreciate without specialized testing equipment, the keyboard certainly feels exceptionally responsive.

The onboard controls are another highlight. The multifunction digital dial, dedicated media button, and quick adjustment functionality make it easy to tweak settings without constantly diving into software. Folks can also save multiple profiles directly to the keyboard, making it convenient to switch between different games and configurations.

Of course, the biggest practical consideration here is the tenkeyless layout. Removing the number pad creates considerably more room for your mouse, which is especially useful for competitive FPS players who prefer lower sensitivity settings.

However, as I mentioned in my previous review, I’m still a fan of having a dedicated number pad. Between gaming, productivity, and everyday computer use, those extra keys are useful. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s something to consider before buying

The Esports Green edition also comes with one dedicated macro button rather than the two found on the full-size Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz. You still get the multifunction dial and media controls, so the essentials remain intact.

The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro TKL 8KHz Esports Green is an excellent example of taking an already impressive gaming keyboard and giving it a little extra personality. Its distinctive finish, premium construction, responsive switches, and extensive competitive gaming features make it an appealing option for competitive gamers.

The traditional keyboard profile won’t necessarily appeal to everyone who enjoyed the low-profile model, but it delivers the familiar typing experience many mechanical keyboard enthusiasts prefer. The lack of a number pad and the premium price will understandably give people pause. However, for competitive players looking for exceptional responsiveness, extensive customization, and a keyboard that actually stands out visually, the Huntsman V3 Pro TKL 8KHz Esports Green is a compelling option. It’s fast, it’s incredibly capable, and that green finish is downright gorgeous.
