Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Tenkeyless Review
When it comes to tech, I’m rarely looking for the flashiest option. More often than not, I lean toward products that offer the best bang for the buck. Sure, pricey high-end keyboards are great, but in an economy that is in the absolute shitter, affordable options matter. The Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic Tenkeyless (TKL) is one of those rare keyboards that manages to feel premium while maintaining a very reasonable $139.99 USD price point.
Equipped with Hall Effect magnetic switches, an 8000Hz polling rate, Rapid Trigger functionality, and a compact layout, the Huntsman V3 HE delivers many of the features you’d typically see in more expensive keyboards. This wallet friendly keyboard doesn’t feel like budget tech at all. Making it an excellent option for serious gamers who want high-end performance without a high-end price tag.
The star of the show is Razer’s Hall Effect Magnetic switches. The keys feel fantastic. Every keypress is smooth, responsive, and satisfying. The adjustable actuation range from 0.1mm to 4.0mm gives folks an impressive level of customization. You can adjust everything from hair-trigger inputs to a traditional typing experiences. I’ll admit, the spacebar feels slightly different, but I never found it to be significant enough to detract from the overall experience.
Calibration Done Right
One standout feature that helps set Razer’s keyboard apart from the competition is its built-in calibration system. Because magnetic switches can be affected by environmental interference from nearby metal objects and electronic devices, Razer includes a calibration tool in Synapse that lets users quickly recalibrate the keyboard to maintain optimal switch accuracy. It’s the kind of feature I never would have thought about, but after using it, I really appreciate the practicality.

In gaming, the Huntsman V3 HE excels. Features like Rapid Trigger and Snap Tap provide a level of responsiveness many traditional keyboards struggle to match. Movement feels crisp, inputs register instantly, and the keyboard gives you confidence that every command is being executed exactly as intended. The 8000Hz polling rate is probably overkill, but competitive gamers will appreciate the near instant response times and extremely low latency. Combined with the precision of the Hall Effect switches, this is a keyboard is built for esports and competitive shooters.
Misfires Are an Afterthought
Razer also includes several unique features. Dual Key Press Priority helps prevent accidental directional inputs during movement-heavy shooters, while Snap Flex allows a single key to trigger one action on press and another on release. The usefulness of these features will vary depending on the game, but they provide a level of input customization that is difficult to find elsewhere. Once again, it reinforces the keyboard’s esports focus.
One area where Razer deserves some credit is its software. Razer Synapse makes adjusting actuation points, Rapid Trigger settings, calibration options, and other advanced features straightforward. Dynamic Keystroke allows players to assign up to four actions to a single key press based on different actuation and release points. When paired with Instant Cancel Control, folks can create sophisticated macros and input sequences while still maintaining control over execution. There is certainly a learning curve, and many casual players will never fully explore everything on offer, but few gaming keyboards currently provide this level of flexibility.
Build quality is decent. The aluminum top plate gives the keyboard a sturdy, premium feel, and the doubleshot PBT keycaps feel durable and comfortable during long gaming sessions. The stabilizers are notably well-tuned, with no noticeable rattling on larger keys. That said, the plastic lower shell prevents it from feeling quite as premium as some higher-end custom keyboards, and folks looking for an all-metal chassis may find room for improvement.

Premium Typing Feel
Razer also paid attention to acoustics. The switches come factory lubricated and the keyboard incorporates dense internal foam to reduce hollow sounds and unwanted resonance. The result is a noticeably softer and less clicky sound profile than many gaming-focused keyboards.
One of my favorite aspects of the Huntsman V3 HE is its compact tenkeyless design. It has a significantly smaller footprint than a full-size keyboard, allowing it to fit comfortably on virtually any desk or gaming surface. The extra room for mouse movement is particularly noticeable in FPS games, and the cleaner desk setup is a nice bonus. If you’re working with limited desk space, the compact design is fantastic.
The RGB lighting is also pretty slick. The lighting is vibrant and customizable through Synapse. The overall effect gives the keyboard a premium look without feeling overly flashy. Whether you prefer subtle lighting effects or a full RGB setup, the Huntsman V3 HE delivers.

If I have one significant complaint, it’s the lack of a number pad. While the tenkeyless layout makes perfect sense for gaming and smaller desks, I do occasionally miss having dedicated numpad keys for spreadsheets and productivity work. The keyboard also lacks the dedicated media controls found on some higher-end Huntsman models, though this wasn’t something I found myself missing often.
Overall, the Razer Huntsman V3 HE TKL delivers on exactly what Razer set out to achieve. That is a rock solid Hall Effect gaming keyboard that combines competitive performance, extensive customization, refined acoustics, and premium features at an accessible price. It isn’t without its compromises, and keyboard enthusiasts may take issue with certain aspects of the build. Still, for gamers looking to step into the world of Hall Effect keyboards without breaking the bank, the Huntsman V3 HE TKL stands out as one of the best values available.
