3. Danganronpa Decadence – December 3
The Danganronpa visual novel series began on the PSP, and continued onto the PS4 with great success. The 3 main series games are all ranked among the most beloved visual novels ever experienced, and now those three games, along with new release Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp, are coming out in one discounted package for the Switch. The games play out similarly to the Ace Attorney games, with the player gathering evidence and playing through trial sequences. The only reason it doesn’t rank higher this month, is because the top two releases are from much bigger franchises.
2. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach – December 16
Also known as Five Nights at Freddy’s VIII: Freddy Takes Manhattan, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is the eighth entry in the child-friendly jump-scare phenomenon series. It’s actually been a couple years since the last Five Nights at Freddy’s game, Help Wanted, so franchise fans might be starved for more scares this time around. Security Breach features an 80s theme, and will be available for both PlayStations, in addition to the usual PC release, at launch. The only reason it’s no the top spot this month, is that #1 is a triple-A no-brainer.
1. Halo: Infinite – December 8
Duh. It’s Halo 6, one of the system selling games for the X-box Series X/S consoles. PlayStation owners be sad, and PC owners be updated, as this is THE first-person shooter release of the year. Halo: Infinite was supposed to be a launch title for the Xbox Series X/S, and it’s been 6 years since Halo 5: Guardians, so fans are chomping at the bit to get their hands on it. While Halo: Infinite mostly promises more of the same genre-defining gameplay, it is introducing 12v12 PVP. The 2020 campaign reveal did leave many disappointed with the game’s visuals, but the beta gameplay has since received a very positive response. Xbox Series owners, this is your time!
