7. Fury – Darksiders 3
Having fallen a bit by the wayside, Darksiders 3 is a visceral story of demons, angels, and hell on Earth. Fury is one of the four horsemen and is the embodiment of rage (It’s right there in her name!) Not only would Fury fit in for her brutality and violence but the very fact her story ties in with hell and the gods means she would interact with a few particular characters fantastically. While not the most compelling character, she would easily blend into the narrative and have some great interactions with the cast.
6. Arthur Morgan – Red Dead Redemption 2
The joys of Mortal Kombat is that anyone can be a fighter. While maybe not the most versatile in fighting skills, offering Arthur Morgan as a guest character would increase sales exponentially. RDR2 is one of the most popular games to launch in recent memory, and while the cowboy outlaw with a semi-heart of gold might not be as inclined towards violence, he would make a great hero for good in the Mortal Kombat series as he wants to do the right thing. If they can throw Negan into Tekken, then Arthur Morgan could definitely kick some ass. I imagine him being a mix of Mokap and Bo Rai Cho…
5. Agent 47 – Hitman 2
With the recent launch of Hitman 2 and the overhaul to the gameplay mechanics, Hitman has become even more of a gem than it was before. While still not necessarily as successful as it deserves, the Hitman franchise is a cult classic and Agent 47 is the kind of no-nonsense assassin that would blend in perfectly as a guest character. With a variety of tools and weapons in his arsenal as well as the potential for abilities such as temporary invisibility or dropping traps, Agent 47 would be a fresh and fun addition to the Mortal Kombat roster.
4. Alexios/Kassandra – Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Either one of the protagonists from the latest entry in the Assassin’s Creed series would do (maybe have it as one character and you can swap between them on the menu?) Ever since Origins, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has been slowly rebranding and the new RPG elements also lend to new brutal assassinations and combat kills. Whereas characters like Ezio and Evie may be more popular, it’s the Spartan Eagle Bearers who prove to be the most violent and well suited for the series. Odyssey has been well received and is loaded with more content to come, not to mention the variety of brutal attacks the Eagle Bearer can perform. Who wouldn’t want to spartan kick an enemy off the pit stage? It might be a long shot but they sure would look great.
