Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection is a wonderful collection of four Bubsy games. It has quality of life updates, a new version of Bubsy 3D, and amazing archives. Unfortunately, the Bubsy games themselves are terrible, and have aged poorly. Our reviewer noted “Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection is an incredibly loving and complete package of everything Bubsy. Anyone with nostalgic love for this series will be over the moon”. It’s just too bad the games themselves only have nostalgic value. Games this poor have to wind up in The Bad section of The Three Best (and Worst) Video Games September 2025.
Hotel Barcelona

Hotel Barcelona is a collaboration between auteur game developers SWERY and SUDA51. It’s a 2D roguelite action platformer, with all of the narrative strangeness fans of the developers could hope for. Unfortunately, it feels awful to play, and has intentionally overly complicated mechanics and UI. Our reviewer concluded “I just can’t recommend a game that plays this horribly”. Hopefully fans of the devs will find the world and aesthetics to be enough for them to enjoy. Hotel Barcelona soundly sits in The Bad section of The Three Best (and Worst) Video Games September 2025.
Lost Soul Aside

Lost Soul Aside is an action JRPG from a first time Chinese developer. Despite its small dev team, the game looks like a triple-A Final Fantasy XV-inspired extravaganza. Sony put its full marketing machine behind Lost Soul Aside. It was delayed before its release, and still came out as a buggy mess. Lost Soul Aside’s action combat feels great, but almost every other aspect is quite poor. Our reviewer wrote “Lost Soul Aside’s sometimes excellent action is undercut by flat characters, cliche story, terrible writing and rough mechanics”. Lost Soul Aside is the worst scoring high profile game COGconnected’s seen in quite a while. It easily made it into The Bad section of The Three Best (and Worst) Video Games September 2025.
