5 – Amiibo
With the constant release of HD games and blockbuster titles, it’s easy to overlook the little guys: the toys. While the craze has died down in recent years, Amiibos have continued to hit the shelf with each major release, covering games like Super Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem and Game of the Year Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Amiibo make fantastic collector items, with highly detailed and colorful characters; they will add bonus content to a number of games – including the port of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Each retailing under $20, and it’s another nice surprise to reach into the big red sock and find a highly detailed and digitally functional figure.
6 – Controller Decals
Most gamers will tell you that we love customization. Characters, Cars, Levels, Gear, we want it tailor-made exactly to our individual specifications. So why wouldn’t you want the same thing for your controller? There are a ton of aftermarket options to order for your PS3/PS4/WiiU/360/Xbox One controllers to give them all kinds of creative looks from the basics like camo, pixels, and simple color swaps to character or property specific images. Some websites will even give you the option of custom designs for that extra touch of personality.
7 – Xbox One Seagate Hard Drive
With the staggering quality the all-new Xbox One X puts out, your hard drive is going to be clawing for space to handle those incredibly over-the-top graphics. While it might be a little out of your price point for a stocking stuffer, this Xbox One specific Seagate hard drive will quite possibly steal the show when presents are ripped open and the recipient realizes they can stop deleting games to make space for more graphics. What’s a little extra money for the price of happiness?
8 – World of Warcraft Time
Membership for World of Warcraft was beginning to thin out for a while until they released the expansion pack “Legion” and suddenly the numbers surged again. Sometimes it’s hard to find just the right gift for a gamer, most of us end up just buying the things we want anyway, so what do you get a WoW gamer that doesn’t need toys or accessories? More WoW time. Affectionately referred to by some as “Crack in a Box”, you can walk into almost any video game retailer and ask for some additional time to slap on to a friend’s account and feed their addiction of prancing about Azeroth and battling everyone they encounter, a lovely way to spend the holiday season.
