Become a Commander Once Again in Total War: ATTILA
We got awesome news for all the classic RTS fans out there! Feral Interactive has announced that Total War: ATTILA is making its return to macOS on July 2, bringing a refreshed version of the acclaimed strategy game with native Apple Silicon support. The relaunch promises improved performance, better UI scaling, and full optimization for modern Mac hardware.

Originally developed by Creative Assembly, Total War: ATTILA takes players to the final years of the Western Roman Empire during the chaotic Migration Period. The campaign spans Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, offering players the choice of defending the crumbling Roman Empire, leading barbarian tribes in their fight for freedom, or conquering everything in sight as Attila’s nomadic Huns.
The game’s ten starting factions each present unique survival challenges, blending grand strategy with intense real-time battles. Players will also have to contend with changing climates, dwindling resources, and large-scale migrations that reshape the campaign map as the Dark Ages unfold.
Joining the relaunch are eight DLC packs that expand the experience with additional campaigns, new cultures, and playable factions. The Blood & Burning pack also adds more brutal visual effects to the battlefield.
Total War: ATTILA and all of its DLC will be available on Steam for macOS beginning July 2. Existing Steam owners can upgrade to the new version at no additional cost, while a Mac App Store release is scheduled to follow later in July. The updated version will support Mac models released from November 2020 onward, requiring an Apple M1 chip, Apple A18 Pro, or newer hardware.
It’s great to see another classic Total War title receive a modern upgrade, giving Mac players a smoother way to revisit one of the series’ most challenging historical campaigns.
