Enjoy Knights Province With Your Friends
Knights Province reaches an important development milestone with the release of Alpha 13, arriving just in time for the Christmas season. This update follows nearly two years of work since Alpha 12 and introduces wide-ranging technical, visual, and gameplay improvements. The most significant addition is the long-awaited introduction of multiplayer, marking a major step toward the game’s full real-time strategy vision.

Alpha 13 opens the door to online play, allowing players to join shared servers for cooperative matches, competitive PvP, or spectating ongoing games. Players can easily share maps and save files, making multiplayer sessions flexible and accessible. Beyond multiplayer, the update expands mission scripting and storytelling tools, improves performance, and refines both audio and visual presentation.
Mission creators gain new animated map objects and addon assets, enabling more dynamic and expressive scenarios. Heroic unit support adds unique identities through custom names, statistics, morale systems, and behaviors, greatly expanding narrative and design possibilities. Skeletons also join the game as a new neutral enemy type, immune to hunger and morale, introducing fresh tactical challenges and a darker tone to select missions.
The update includes a new eight-mission campaign titled Burning Hay, designed by Amaroth. This story-driven campaign follows an inexperienced knight caught in a sudden civil war and introduces new single-player and multiplayer maps. Visually, the developers have fully reworked the forests with improved foliage, added new terrain surfaces, and introduced adjustable sun settings that give precise control over atmosphere and lighting.
Additional updates include rendering optimizations, an improved sound engine, enhanced text rendering with mixed styles, expanded localization support, including Greek, and numerous quality-of-life improvements. A full changelog is available in-game. Knights Province remains free-to-play during Alpha, with Alpha 14 planned to expand systems such as animal breeding, siege mechanics, AI behavior, and player trading.
