Alpha Nomos Drops a New Gameplay Trailer Ahead of Steam Next Fest

Check Out What’s Cooking in Alpha Nomos

Things are looking pretty awesome for Alpha Nomos as RibCage Games has shared a fresh look at its upcoming rhythm-action roguelite with a brand-new gameplay trailer released just ahead of Steam Next Fest. Alongside the trailer, the developer also updated the Steam demo. Players can try it out throughout the event from June 15 to 22.

The latest footage highlights noticeable improvements to combat. This includes expanded power-up evolutions and the game’s standout feature, live-recorded musical weapons. Every encounter now feels and sounds unique, as the game’s core “music-as-mechanic” system dynamically reshapes the soundtrack based on player actions. Built using feedback from earlier playtests, the new demo introduces a tighter combat loop and fresh enemy encounters.

In the game, players step inside the shoes of Cello, a small puppet adventurer navigating a fractured world where music has been silenced by a mysterious force known as the Alpha Nomos. Combat revolves around timing attacks to the beat, allowing players to chain combos, build style, and unlock musical upgrades. Effects like Reverb, Flanger, and Delay don’t just boost stats; they transform how each strike sounds. Hence, turning every run into its own evolving composition.

“We didn’t want rhythm bolted on top of an action game; we wanted it to be the action. Every hit, every dodge, every upgrade lives on the beat. This trailer is the first time you can really see that click into place.” said RibCage.

Overall, Alpha Nomos looks like a creative blend of rhythm and action, and this latest demo offers a strong glimpse of what the full experience could deliver. So, go ahead and check it out right now!
