Check Out What’s Cooking in BLACKWOOD
BLACKWOOD: Act 1 is almost ready to hit Steam, and ahead of its September 16 launch, developer AttritoM7 Productions and publisher IZilla Games have shared a new gameplay trailer highlighting what players can expect from Anton Blackwood’s dangerous double life.
Set in New York in 2012, BLACKWOOD follows Anton as he balances two very different worlds. During the day, he runs an ordinary DVD store, but once night falls, he steps into the criminal underworld as a ruthless contract killer. As Anton tries to survive, his past continues to catch up with him.
The game combines cinematic storytelling with third-person shooting, melee combat, brutal takedowns, and a detailed recreation of 2012 New York. However, players will need more than quick reflexes to survive its encounters.
BLACKWOOD encourages players to manage ammunition carefully, switch weapons when necessary, stay mobile, and use the environment to their advantage. Players can also perform takedowns and make creative use of objects around them when situations become chaotic.
The new trailer also showcases several systems outside of combat, including weapon customization, shooting improvements, health management, Anton’s home, deliveries, and progression.
Combat gives players plenty of room to experiment, whether that means diving into danger, chaining takedowns, or carefully making every bullet count. Additional weapon configurations, shooting drills, and difficulty options offer even more ways to refine Anton’s skills.
Overall, BLACKWOOD: Act 1 looks like an interesting mix of gritty storytelling and hands-on action. We’ll have to wait and see how well all these systems come together once players finally get their hands on it.
