Don’t Lose Aggro Has Received Its First Major Early Access Update

Make Sure You Don’t Lose Aggro

Don’t Lose Aggro, the single-player action roguelite inspired by the chaos of MMO tanking, has received its first major Early Access update. The update arrives during Steam Party-Based RPG Fest, which runs from September 14 to 21, giving players a good reason to jump back into the game.

Following a recent public playtest, the update brings a wide range of gameplay changes, new systems, and improvements. One of the biggest additions increases the party size from two characters to three, giving players another companion to protect while keeping enemies focused on them.

The update also introduces the Summoner, a brand-new companion who joins the roster alongside improved companion behaviors. A new target marking system also gives players greater control over their party during combat, making it easier to direct companions and manage chaotic encounters.

Other additions include a new tutorial, a new shield with toughness modifiers, fresh status effects and debuffs, and several UI and UX improvements. The update also adds Blood Strike, a new ability that lets players deal damage while healing themselves, giving tanks another useful tool for staying alive.

At its core, Don’t Lose Aggro turns the familiar MMO tanking role into a fast-paced single-player experience. Players must manage positioning, abilities, threat, and different builds while making sure enemies don’t turn their attention toward their companions. With the larger party and new combat systems, that responsibility has become even more demanding.

The major update is now live in Early Access on Steam. If you enjoy playing the tank who has to keep everyone alive, this might be the perfect time to step back into the fight and try not to lose aggro.
