Zero to South Drops First Gameplay Trailer for Its Gritty Post-Y2K Road Trip

Hit the Road and Survive in Zero to South

Independent developer Voxel Bytes has unveiled the first gameplay trailer for Zero To South, an upcoming survival road trip game set in a post-Y2K version of the United States. The game is currently in development for PC and puts players behind the wheel of a taxi as they attempt to make their way across the country.

Players will begin the journey with a “shitbox” of a car and need to keep it running throughout the trip. Vehicle maintenance plays a major role, with players having to manage and repair their ride. They must do so while gathering the resources needed to survive.

The journey won’t be an easy one, either. Players will need to keep an eye on their supplies to avoid starving while dealing with unexpected dangers. Bandits can appear during the trip, leading to unpredictable combat encounters that can quickly turn things around.

Zero To South aims to combine road trip exploration with survival mechanics, vehicle management, resource gathering, and a tense atmosphere inspired by a post-Y2K United States. The cross-country journey is expected to feature plenty of unpredictable moments as players try to keep moving forward.

With its rough car, dangerous roads, and survival-focused gameplay, Zero To South already looks like a road trip where absolutely nothing will go according to plan. The game is currently in development for PC, with more details expected in the future.
