6 Survival Games Coming in 2022

Being a gamer is tough sometimes, there are so many games to choose from that you give up searching and go back to good ol’ League or online casino. This list is made to give you an idea about which game will scratch that itch you’ve had for a while.

Survival games are a fantastic way to pass the time. It feels fantastic, especially when you can brag about it to your buddies.

We’ve compiled a list of some of the best survival games set to come in the coming year, as well as some that are worth keeping an eye on when they do.

  1. The Day Before

The Day Before is an MMO survival game set in a post-apocalyptic America with desperate people fighting for life against each other and infected who are hellbent on devouring any fleshy person in their path. It was first revealed in early 2021.

This game boasts stunning views, visuals, and gameplay that is not to be overlooked. It appears rough, intuitive, and exactly what you’d want in a game like this. Let’s hope it doesn’t let us down when it finally comes out.

  1. V Rising

In V Rising, you play as an awakened vampire who, after hibernating for hundreds of years, must reawaken by ingesting blood, a vampire’s favorite food.

Raid surrounding communities, rebuild your fortress and turn people into obedient servants. It’s all for the sake of establishing your vampire dominion. This game features a highly pleasant visual design, as well as the option to play with friends online and encounter friends and opponents in the form of random online gamers.

Stunlock Studios has yet to announce a release date, so we’re hoping they take their time polishing this game before releasing it; it has a lot of potential to be a top-selling title.

  1. Icarus

Icarus is a one-of-a-kind survival game. Icarus is a session-based survival game that may be played with up to 7 other players or played solo if you choose.

You begin on the space station, then fly down to the strange wilderness of Icarus, harvest exotic resources, endure the hard circumstances, and explore new regions before returning to the station and converting what you’ve acquired into advanced materials.

Icarus appears to be a more difficult and hopefully refreshing take on the ever-growing survival genre. Up until November 7th, there will be betas for the game every second weekend; all you have to do to get in is pre-order the game on Steam.

  1. IXION

It’s a hybrid of a city-building and survival game in which you aid in the navigation of the Tiqqun space station through deep space in search of a new home for humanity.

You take up the role of the station’s administrator. You’ll assist in the management of all aspects of the station in order to secure your people’s survival and the successful discovery of the planet that will eventually become Earth 2.0.

Not something that has been done much before, but it should be a nice release for those fans who are anticipating it. I’m sure I’ll pick this one up.

  1. Frostpunk 2

Frostpunk 2 is a sequel to the hugely popular city-building survival game Frostpunk. The world is still suffering 30 years after the devastating snowfall in Frostpunk 2. As the leader of a new metropolis, you’ll be leading your people on a search for oil, a new source of power that will allow them to survive.

Not everyone will agree with the new path your metropolis is taking, so you’ll have to cope with a political conflict. It will be your responsibility to bring your people together and lead them toward a better future while dealing with the inevitable sacrifices that will be made along the road.

Those who enjoyed the previous game will be eagerly anticipating its sequel, and here’s hoping it’s even better than the first.

  1. Winter Survival Simulator

Simulator games are the bread and butter for certain individuals. These games are known for delving deep into their systems in order to deliver the most ultra-realistic experience imaginable. Winter Survival Simulator is a game that aims to do exactly that.

You’re lost, with little to no resources, amid the harsh conditions of Mount Washington State Park. Survive the freezing temperatures, the roaming wildlife, and satisfy your hunger and thirst while making your way to an abandoned ranger station to cry for aid.

With plans to release this year, let’s hope we aren’t all weary of winter by the time it arrives. I, on the other hand, enjoy the cold, so I’m sure I’ll give this one a go.
