The Brand New Mobile Version of the Incredibly Popular Rocket League is Getting Its First Season of Content Today
One day after its worldwide mobile release, Rocket League Sideswipe is launching Season 1 to players everywhere. Psyonix has finally brought Rocket League to mobile and is kicking off its launch with a bang.
Similar to its console version, Sideswipe is geared towards the online multiplayer experience. Therefore Psyonix didn’t want to waste any time with its first season of today.
This season, players can unlock different items by progressing through online matches and rising up the ranks. Psyonix has reset competitive ranks following the Pre-Season that launched to players in Oceania last month. Players who participated in the Pre-Season will also receive a reward when the new season begins.
Along with Season 1, Psyonix is kicking off a Rocket League crossover event that will last until January 25. There will be two challenges in Sideswipe to receive items in both the console and mobile versions.
Announced earlier this year, Rocket League Sideswipe is a new version of the car soccer game. Based on the original gameplay of the classic Rocket League, Sideswipe features multiple game modes, competitive online matches, seasons and car customization similar to the fan favourite. The gameplay is different than what Rocket League players may be used to, but it’s built on the same idea as the original. So players should feel right at home.
