DLC and a Big Free Update Coming to Minecraft Dungeons Soon
Mojang Studios has officially confirmed that the next DLC coming to Minecraft Dungeons, Flames of the Nether, will be releasing later this month. Flames of the Nether has no set price yet, but previous expansions have set fans of the latest Minecraft title back $5.99, while others opted for the Season Pass which includes all of the expansions for $19.99. Flames of the Nether releases on February 24th for Minecraft Dungeons on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
“Heroes, things are heating up! Flames of the Nether DLC is being served hot on February 24th,” said Mojang on the official Minecraft Dungeons Twitter account. “We’ve also cooked up one of our biggest free updates ever! Learn more about Dungeons’ first interdimensional adventure!” While the DLC will set Minecraft Dungeons fans back some money, it looks like Mojang is working on tons of free content and changes for all fans of the dungeon crawler to enjoy.
Minecraft Dungeons’ free update will include a new feature called Ancient Hunts which are procedurally-generated end-game missions that reward top-tier Gilded gear. For a game that feels very similar to Diablo, this addition is similar to the changes made to Diablo 3 with the Reaper of Souls expansion. The Nether will remain a prominent location of Minecraft Dungeons for both the new update and Flames of the Nether. Those who purchase the expansion will also be able to unlock two new skins, a Baby Ghast pet, and a Piglin that will appear in the player’s camp.
