Fortnitemares Event Takes Over Fortnite

Fortnitemares Bring Halloween to Fortnite

Epic Games has officially brought the Halloween game mode, Fortnitemares, to the island of Fortnite. The game mode has taken over the solo, duo, and squad modes, leaving fans of the battle royale title only Arenas, or Team Rumble to retreat to if they aren’t enjoying the spooky new game mode. Fortnite is available for free right now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Mobile, with Fortnitemares lasting until November 3rd.

Fortnitemares 2020 revolves around Midas in his quest for revenge after being thwarted at the end of last season. Fortnitemares brings back popular weapons such as Pumpkin Rocket Launcher and the Fiend Hunter Crossbow, while the Witch Broom will help you dodge ghouls looking for revenge. When gamers die in Fortnitemares, they return as a ghoul with unique abilities that let you track and defeat remaining players. Getting a victory in Fortnitemares either requires you to outlast the normal competition as well as the ghouls, or a swarm of ghouls finding and defeating the last survivors for a Nitemare Royale.

Alongside Fortnitemares 2020 is a string of challenges based around the spooky game mode for gamers to receive big lumps of XP for riding on a Witch Broom or eating candy found throughout the map. This progression can yield rewards that are unique to Fortnitemares, but will also count towards your Battle Pass progression, making the new game mode worth playing for anyone who purchased this season’s pass. The point-of-interest previously known as The Authority has officially become Ruins in Fortnitemares as Midas and his Goons have ransacked the place, leaving it tattered and destroyed.
