Fable Is Being Made by Great Minds From Multiple Franchises
Video Games Chronicle recently released a series of names of developers that are working on the upcoming Fable title and the list includes developers from GTA V, Borderlands, and the Batman Arkham series. The head designer for the new Fable is Will Kennedy, who previously worked on GTA V and GTA Online as a level designer. The narrative director Martin Lancaster, Craig Owens, and Kim MacAskill previously worked at Rocksteady Studios on the Batman Arkham Series. Several developers also have experience with the Borderlands series which is available for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC right now.
Among the names from GTA V and the Batman Arkham series joining Playground Games in the creation of the next-gen Fable title are Juan Fernández de Simón, Hunter Wright, Adam Olsson and Tom Isaksen who have all worked on noteworthy titles. These games include The Division 2, the Borderlands Series, and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. It’ll be interesting to see how this unique mix of developers will evolve the Fable franchise heading into the release of the Xbox Series X.
Fans of Fable can expect to see some things that are familiar to the franchise when the next-gen Fable eventually releases, but it will bring with it some new ideas as well according to Matt Booty. The game was recently briefly teased during the Xbox game showcase and a lack of gameplay or release date makes us think we’ll be waiting a while for the Xbox Series X Fable title developed by Playground Games. Playground is most notable for working on the Forza Horizon titles, but it looks like the team includes several developers from open-world sandbox titles, which Fable really led the charge with.
