Kim Bodnia to Play Geralt’s Teacher, Vesemir
Season two of The Witcher is already highly anticipated and Netflix is fanning the fire by revealing the actor who will play Vesemir. Netflix tweeted out that Kim Bodnia will be taking the role of the old witcher and Geralt’s teacher.
Kim Bodnia is best known for playing Konstatin in Killing Eve, Bodnia is a Danish actor who became widely known for his role as police detective Martin Rohde in the Scandinavian crime drama series The Bridge. Showrunner and executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich spoke highly of Bodnia after the reveal.
“I am so thrilled to welcome Kim Bodnia to the cast of The Witcher. I have admired his unique talents in shows like Killing Eve and The Bridge, and cannot wait for him to bring strength, tenacity, and warmth to the character of Vesemir, who is such an integral part of our upcoming season.”
Vesemir is the oldest witcher in the series, and with that age comes a great deal of wisdom. Fans of the show may recall Geralt murmuring the name of the old witcher near the end of the first season.
It’s also been confirmed that the animated Witcher movie will be centred on Vesemir. The movie is called The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
The Witcher 3 has experienced an increase in sales since the Netflix series aired. The series has been resonated with critics and fans of the source materials and games alike.
