Another Story Is About to Unfold in Night City
CD PROJEKT RED has officially released a brand-new trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, offering fans another look at the upcoming anime before it arrives exclusively on Netflix in Fall 2026.
Unlike the original series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 introduces an entirely new cast of characters and tells a standalone story set in the dangerous streets of Night City, the same futuristic metropolis featured in Cyberpunk 2077. The new series promises to explore the darker side of the city while following a fresh group of edgerunners trying to survive in its unforgiving world.
The acclaimed Japanese animation studio TRIGGER is once again producing the anime in collaboration with the team. Kai Ikarashi serves as director, while Ichigo Kanno is responsible for the character designs. The story is written by CD PROJEKT RED’s Bartosz Sztybor alongside Masahiko Otsuka.
Alongside the trailer, CD PROJEKT RED also revealed the anime’s new key artwork, with illustrations by Ichigo Kanno, color supervision by Yukiko Kakita, and composition by Yuichiroh Tozawa. The trailer also debuts the original song “You Can’t Run From Me” by Rico Nasty, which is now available on major music streaming services.
Fans attending Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles will also get an early preview of the series. On July 3, CD PROJEKT RED will host a special panel featuring the show’s creators and voice actor Nazeeh Tarsha. There will also be an exclusive screening of the first episode for the attendees only.
With a fresh story, new characters, and another return to Night City, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated anime releases of the year.
