Rumors Suggest a Star Wars KOTOR Reimagining

Star Wars KOTOR Is Getting an Update According to Rumors

According to Cinelinx, the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic series may be returning with a reimagining of the original title. Cinelinx claim that a semi-sequel/semi-remake and a full re-imagining of the series is being published by EA. The game will pull in elements from both previous games and bring those elements into the new Star Wars canon. Apparently a Knights of the Old Republic remake was in development in early 2015 but was put on hold a year later, but the project has now been rebooted. The original KOTOR is available on Xbox, PC, Mac and Mobile now.

KOTOR

The Star Wars KOTOR series has been a fan favorite for over a decade and the report from Cinelinx also mentions a few other Star Wars games that are supposedly in development at EA, on top of the new Knights of the Old Republic. While one of the games is predictable, a sequel for the massively successful Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, one of the titles is a Switch exclusive which is heavily under wraps. While work continues on The Old Republic Star Wars MMORPG, we’re looking forward to seeing more of the next KOTOR title.

Both BioWare and Obsidian have tried to make a Knights of the Old Republic 3 over the years, with none of the attempts succeeding. Although these rumors may be wishful thinking, we hope to see a new Knights of the Old Republic title make it passed the early stages of development. Even though the title has been put on hold previously, we hope that EA has learnt the power of single player experiences with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
