5 Reasons Why The Switch Puts Nintendo Back in The Console Game

5 Reasons The Nintendo Switch Catches Up in The Home Console Race

As you have probably heard by now, the Nintendo NX has been revealed as the Nintendo Switch. The talk of the internet, Nintendo is now poised to re-enter the home console race following a relatively unsuccessful Wii U life cycle. But what makes the Switch so special? What will entice people to make the switch to Switch? Here are five reasons that the Nintendo Switch will make an impact on console gaming.

Third Party Support

We all know that the Nintendo Switch will have that great first party library, featuring titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, potentially updated versions of Mario Kart, Splatoon, and what looks to be an unannounced Mario game. What Nintendo has lacked in recent memory is strong third party support. With developers such as From Software, Bethesda, Activision, Square Enix, and EA supporting the Switch, Nintendo fans will not have to worry about not having enough quality games to play.

Play Anywhere

Much like the Wii U, the Nintendo’s new console will allow you to play off-screen. Unlike the Wii U, it appears that you no longer require the full console set-up in order to play anywhere in your house, outside, across the street, or even across the world. It is obvious that the Switch will take the place as Nintendo’s home console over the Wii U, but how does this affect the 3DS? The 3DS is ultra popular, but if the Switch can prove to have good battery life and portability, it could supplant the 3DS as Nintendo’s mobile console as well.

Play How You Like

Again, like the Wii U, the console allows you to play on the big screen or on the “Gamepad”. The Nintendo Switch takes things a step further by allowing you to take the Joy-Cons off of the screen and play without having to hold the screen as well. This is obviously a great way to let players dictate how they play, even having local multiplayer using even smaller controllers as well. Players aren’t limited to those control options, as a Pro Controller option was also shown.
