Enter the Haunted House if You Dare

The classic 1982 survival-horror title Haunted House is making a comeback after more than 40 years. Atari is finally reviving it as a stealth-horror roguelite game with the help of the developer Orbit Studio. Today, they announced that the game will launch on multiple consoles on 12 October. This includes PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Atari VCS, and PC.

Haunted House

In this new reimagined version, players take control of Lyn Graves, the niece of legendary treasure hunter Zachary Graves. Lyn and her friends visit Zachary’s mansion, only to find it overrun with ghouls and monsters. She must find the shattered pieces of a magical urn and put them back together in order to free her uncle and her friends and capture all the supernatural foes.

The game will feature a number of new gameplay mechanics, including stealth-based gameplay, unlockable characters, and Atari Easter eggs. Players can also use a variety of weapons and items to defeat their enemies and explore the mansion. The roguelite elements of the game also add a new layer of replayability.

The original Haunted House was one of the earliest survival horror video games. It is considered to be a classic by many gamers. Fans of the original game can expect to see familiar enemies and locations in the new game, but they can also expect to be surprised by new challenges and mechanics.
