Teardown Coming to Xbox and PlayStation This Year

Speed, Stealing, and ‘Splosions

Over the last few years, you may have heard of a game called Teardown. What is it? Well, it is made up of pretty familiar elements, but put together to make something pretty unique. The best way I can describe it is as a speedrunning, physics-based, uncrafting game.

The premise of the game is that you are planning heists. You have a limited amount of time to pull it off, but you can take your time prepping for it. You can knock holes in walls, remove obstacles, and place markers and paths ahead of time. Then you rush through it, steal your targets, and get out.

While other heist games, like Payday, have specialized thief tools, Teardown gives you some less conventional ways to steal. Use guns, bombs, hammers, and a variety of vehicles to tear down anything in your path.

Teardown originally hit early access in 2020, but officially launched on PC last year. Yesterday at the PlayStation showcase, Tuxedo Labs and Saber Interactive announced that it would be coming to consoles later this year. No official release date has been given, but there is really only six months left in 2023.
