Blizzard Addresses Concerns On Tokens In WoW Classic

World of Warcraft is one of the biggest video games in history, and has led the way in MMORPGs for some years. Recently, as many expansions have released, Blizzard Entertainment released WoW Classic, where they took the game back to its beginning. Recently, the company has made the decision to release Tokens into WoW Classic. In a new statement, the company has explained the rationale behind the decision. WoW Classic is currently available for subscribers and it currently at the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

In the statement, Blizzard initially resisted the idea of the adding tokens into WoW Classic. However, due to the black market and bots that have been running rampant in the game, a design choice had to be made. As a matter of fact, the company bans thousands of bots weekly, and it feels like a race that never ends. Therefore, although the problem will not be solved, the company believes that tokens in WoW Classic will mitigate the issue as one of the many tools available.

Furthermore, Blizzard noted that just two weeks ago, the company closed 73,000 Accounts for World of Warcraft and 248,105 total Battle.net accounts. Thus, the issue of dealing with bots is a full time job for many persons in the company. Simply put, although the subscribers may be against the idea, WoW Tokens can be an effective tool in the fight against bots.
