The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR Pushed Back a Month

Switchback Now Y’all

Supermassive Games has a pretty specific formula for many of their games. The interactive adventure/horror games from Until Dawn to The Dark Pictures to The Quarry always satisfy players. There are a few titles that break from that formula, such as The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR.

An on-rails VR shooter is the farthest thing from a typical Dark Pictures game, but it’s not unheard of. Supermassive Games made a similar follow-up to Until Dawn in 2016. The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR will also be revisiting locations and motifs from the first season, but fans will unfortunately have to wait longer than they thought.

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR

Supermassive Games announced a delay for their next installment of The Dark Pictures Anthology. It was meant to come out on February 22nd, but that won’t be happening. Instead, it will come out almost a month later. This is probably for the best. We all know how finicky VR can be and an unpolished entry to the series could really take the wind out of its sails.

So far, the first game of season two does not have a release date. The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is meant to be a sort of wrap-up for the first season. With the next interactive, “choices matter” game not yet on the horizon, fans are really going to need Switchback to work. But first, they will need a PSVR 2 headset.

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR’s new release date is March 16th. It will be coming out exclusively for PSVR 2.
