The Last of Us Part FUN
Whether you are in the camp of “this game doesn’t need to exist” or “I can’t wait for this game”, The Last of Us Part 1 is coming out. Part of the discourse seems to revolve around the price tag, but regardless, it does look pretty.
To shed some light on what makes this more than just a glow-up, Naughty Dog directors released a video to show off all their work. They explain how the PS5 helps them recreate The Last of Us Part 1 to be something closer to their original vision than the PS3 did in 2013.
Other than improve graphics, motion-capture, and gameplay, there are a couple of new features. If you are a master of the first game, you may want to try out the speedrun and perma-death modes. They are exactly what they sound like. The speedrun mode gives players a little timer in the corner of the screen. The perma-death mode basically gives you just one life per chapter.
There are also several features that do not push veteran players. The Last of Us Part 1 adds a photo mode to show off the attention to detail in the game. It also has a model viewer mode, which displays different characters and moments throughout the game. Players can also unlock different outfits and weapon skins for Joel and Ellie.
The Last of Us Part 1 will be coming out on September 2nd on PS5 and is in development for PC.
