Total War: Warhammer 3’s Free DLC Is Coming in August as Beta
Total War: Warhammer 3 has a free expansion coming up. Immortal Empires will be uniting the armies, as well as the locations of all three games in some type of fantasy war gaming. Creative Assembly has confirmed that the DLC is due for release in August. They also provided a bit of an explanation on why it is taking so long and changes fans can expect at launch.
According to devs, there will be a new faction led by Be’Lakor. This character is the demon prince antagonist which fans of the franchise may have already met in the Real of Chaos campaign. Devs are also bringing back some dedicated factions for some Legendary Lords from the early days of the series. Examples of such are Helman Ghorst, Grombrindal, and Volkmar the Grim.
Total War: Warhammer 3 devs also announced that the upcoming DLC is going to launch as beta. The game has a huge following and devs want to get the expansion to the community as soon as they can. However, they “want to be realistic.”
“It will not be the final finished product on day one, just as Mortal Empires was not at its launch in Warhammer 2,” devs wrote. “Ultimately, this entire three game project will not be truly complete for years to come, which is why we are initially launching it under the banner of a beta.”
Changes to the corruption system in Total War: Warhammer 3 required devs to do a rework for older factions. With that said, it would seem that they had to tweak the whole system for the Immortal Empires DLC.
“Given the sheer scale of the project, there are bound to be some visual and technical bugs,” devs added. “Nevertheless, we are confident that game mode will be massive, packed with content, functional, and fun on day one!”
