Fallout 5 Is Coming After Elder Scrolls 6, Says Bethesda’s Todd Howard

Fallout 5 Is Coming But Is Going to Take a Long Time to Arrive

Fallout 5 is next in line for Bethesda’s development team after Elder Scrolls 6. Todd Howard has confirmed in an interview that the latter has already entered its pre-production phase. After its release, they will begin their work on the highly anticipated Fallout installment.

Although this is very good news for fans of the franchise, Howard did admit that there will be a catch. He reminded the gaming community that Bethesda games generally take a long time before it is finished. “I wish they came out faster, I really do,” he said. “We are trying as hard as we can but we want them to be as best as they can be for everybody.”

Howard even used Starfield to get his point across. Many people probably do not know, but Starfield actually went into production in late 2015. It is due to release some time this year. This indicates that the game had a seven-year development cycle. This is a fairly long time for a studio to work on one single game. However, Howard said that they also have other titles that they are working on. “We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well,” he said.

Devs first announced Elder Scrolls 6 back in 2018. However, fans now think that the project has probably been in development long beforehand. With that said, they are speculating that the game will not be out for several more years. Unfortunately, this also means that Fallout 5 is going to take even longer.

Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production,” he continued. “We are going to do be doing Fallout 5 after that so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while.”
