Hollow Knight: Silksong’s New Gameplay Trailer Hints at Release Date

While Silksong Lacks a Formal Release Date, We Did Get a Huge Hint Today

The name “Silksong” has been a distant dream of Hollow Knight fans since its announcement three years ago – and today, that dream inches closer to reality. Playing as Hornet rather than the knight you’re already familiar with, Silksong takes place in a “new kingdom” with a wide variety of new enemies, bosses, and locations to explore.

And today, with the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022, we got a juicy new drop of information.

While we don’t have a formal release date yet, we do have a release window. At the start of the presentation, the announcer claimed that all shown games will be released within 12 months. The arrival of Silksong may be close by!

But we do have something more concrete, too. The game will have a special connection with Xbox game pass. On day-1 of the game’s release, it’ll be made available there.

The description of another trailer reads: “As Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, adventure through a whole new kingdom ruled by silk and song. Captured and brought this unfamiliar land, Hornet must battle foes and solve mysteries as she ascends on a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak.”

Silksong aims for a hopefully-interesting new take on the Hollow Knight formula, with a new protagonist and a focus on ascension rather than decent. And when the game comes out within the impled 12-month window, you’ll have multiple ways to play it.
