Bungie Expands Healthcare Coverage After Roe v. Wade Overturning

Bungie Takes Care of Their Employees

Today has been a hard day for a lot of people. After the Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe v. Wade today, millions of Americans lost their right to abortions. The issue will now be managed by individual states instead of the federal government. However, game developers like Bungie are stepping up for their employees.

Early last month, after a leaked document stating the SCOTUS was considering this overturning, Bungie launched a healthcare initiative for their employees. After today’s announcement, they have solidified their commitment to supporting them in seeking healthcare.

In part, their announcement reads: “Bungie is committed to ensuring that every one of our employees and their families have safe and affordable access to essential healthcare needs. As we continue to expand our digital-first workplace to more states, we will now be implementing a travel reimbursement program for any employee to use when they or a dependent cannot get access to the healthcare they need where they live.

While some states will be keeping abortion legal, there are others that will criminalize it. Regardless of what kind of healthcare they seek, reproductive or otherwise, Bungie employees across the United States will be able to travel to where it is available. Bungie will then reimburse their employees’ travel costs.

Along with their announcement, Bungie has listed several organizations that support healthcare rights. You may consider donating to their causes to keep their service available to those in need.
