Vampire Survival Game V Rising Is the No. 12 Game on Steam Right Now

V Rising Devs Plan to Remove It From Early Access “Within 12 Months”

V Rising is out now. It is a vampire survival game from Swedish developer Stunlock Studios. It had its Early Access release today and already peaked at 46,593 concurrent players. In fact, the multiplayer game is the number 12 game on Steam at the moment.

“The day is finally here,” Marketing Director Johan Ilves said. “Our vampires have been revealed in the moonlight and it is up to the players to discover their secrets.”

Players play the role of a Count Dracula-ish character. They will have to take down trees and built a castle during the times that they are not trying to avoid daylight and sucking the blood of the peasants. Reviews from the gaming community sit at Very Positive. Multiple players have praised V Rising for its technical combat, challenging boss fights, PvP features, and dynamic enemies. Apparently, even the enemies can suddenly decide to turn on each other.

One of the best feedback from players that seems to sum up the game is “Valheim, if Valheim was a goth girl.

With a lot of blood, sweat, and tears (but mostly blood), we have created the foundations for a truly unique vampire gameplay experience,” Ilves continued. “This Early Access campaign will allow us to fine tune V Rising and take the final steps in creating a genre-defining gem.”

At the moment, V Rising devs plan to remove the game from Early Access “within 12 months.” Following this period and some fine tuning, the game’s final version will feature basically everything. This includes weapons, crafting recipes, enemies, biomes, and more.

With that said, fans are hoping that devs will give it controller support along the way. This way, Steam Deck users can enjoy V Rising as well. After all, the game seemingly looks like it is a natural fit for the handheld device.
