Red Dead Online May Be Updated Soon
Red Dead Online has not had any new content for quite a long time now. Fans have apparently been pleading to Rockstar Games for updates. They even started a #SaveRedDeadOnline campaign just this January. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has finally responded to the pleas.
“Rockstar Games talks about the updates that are coming,” Zelnick said during an interview. “We are working on an awful lot at Rockstar Games.”
Fans were a bit dismayed by this response. After all, Zelnick did not really give a concrete answer on what they can expect of their favorite online game. After all the silence that they got from the devs, a relatively vague answer was not what they wanted.
“I have heard the frustration—it is flattering that they want more content,” Zelnick continued. “More will be said by Rockstar in due time.”
At the moment, Rockstar has their hands quite full with their other online gaming services, such as Grand Theft Auto Online. Red Dead Online, on the other hand, has not received an update since last July. This has made fans feel like devs put the game to the side.
Zelnick did later reveal that they will continue to support Red Dead Online for the foreseeable future. However, a rep from the company later clarified this comment. Apparently Zelnick’s comment was only “solely referring to the online servers.” Any future content updates will still depend on Rockstar.
Newly discovered evidence seems to confirm that a Red Dead Online update is coming sooner than later. A dataminer found a DLC pack depot that Rockstar looks to have recently changed. Based on tradition, this would suggest that an update is on its way. Unfortunately no details about the update have been revealed.
