New Updates for Gotham Knights
According to recent reports, the Russian version of Gotham Knights has been canceled with the Russian language option also scrapped from other versions of the game.
According to The Happy Warrior’s sources, WB Montreal has decided to cancel the Russian localization of Gotham Knights due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the political fallout of it. The Russian version of the game was originally planned to have both Russian subtitles as well as Russian dubbing.
According to the same source, the Russian version of the game was in development by the Russian staff as well as the Russian talent until a week before the invasion started. Warner Bros. had decided to act quickly and scrap it altogether in fear of any PR fallout such as social media and press backlash. It is also worth noting that Gotham Knights will still have other language options on release.
WB Montreal had also decided to cancel both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 versions of the game in an effort to optimize the players’ experience and not be hindered by the 8 years old consoles. “Please note, to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles,” said Warner Bros. in a statement.
Gotham Knights is a brand new DC story set in a dark and grim Gotham City after the death of both Batman and Detective Gordon. Nightwind, Redhood, Batgirl, and Robin decide to team up in order to uncover the truth of how Batman had died and save the city from the mysterious Court of Owls.
Gotham Knights is available now for pre-order. The game is releasing on October 25, 2022, on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
