Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Delayed in 2022

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Delayed for a Little More Polish

Those who love Vampire: The Masquerade games have to wait just a little longer for one of its upcoming titles. Not Bloodlines 2, which is, sadly, still up in the air (though it is available for preorder). This news is about the narrative-driven RPG Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, which is set to release in 2022. It’s still set to release during this time but it will take a little longer than might have been expected.

Instead of coming out in February 2022, it will be coming out in May 2022. There’s a reason for this though, according to developer Big Bad Wolf. And it’s not one that can be faulted either. “This wasn’t a decision we took lightly, but one necessary to ensure the highest possible quality while retaining a healthy work-life balance for our team,” the studio said, in a Tweet. And while they admitted that the pandemic did throw things off a bit, they want to use this time productively.

They want to, in short, make sure the game is up to their standards, using Quality Assurance, and adding a little more polish to the game itself. “We’re a small but very passionate team,” Big Bad Wolf added. That makes more sense as to why they want to ensure none of their employees experience burnout; they need everyone they have in order to bring out the best possible game.

And from what we’ve seen, the game does look promising. Swansong is supposed to switch between three vampires in the story, all of which have different abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. This Vampire: Masquerade game promises to be good dark gameplay for those who enjoy the genre, and those who are new to the Vampire: Masquerade RPG universe and what it entails. This may make the list for games to look out for in the coming year, just like Sifu and Splatoon 3.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is set to be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 19, 2022.
