Thymesia, Souls-Like Action Game, Pushed to 2022 Release

Polishing for Perfection

Fans of the grueling, brutal combat of games like Bloodborne may find themselves enraptured by the dark world of Overborder Studios game Thymesia. The game’s features, like an intricate weapon system and action combat, all promise an exciting new entry in the genre. However, followers of the game will have to wait a bit longer. In a tweet from Overborder, the studio explained that they would be delaying the game until next year.

Thymesia Feature

“Together with our publisher, Team17, we have made the difficult decision to delay the launch of Thymesia into 2022,” said the post by the Thymesia team.

The decision came down to fine tuning mechanics in the game. Thymesia boasts fast-paced combat with a detailed world and a choice-driven story. Thus the team at Overborder has stated their commitment to ensuring that these mechanics are as polished as possible.

“It is important to us as game developers to put out something we are proud of,” said the team in their post, “we can’t wait for you to enjoy the experience we’ve created next year.”

At least, to keep fans excited, Overborder released the official release date trailer on November 19th. The trailer showcased the fluid combat, ambience, and the stunning musical quality of the game. The gameplay shown in the trailer is eye-catching and explosive. Also it managed to appear this way without really revealing anything about the overall plot of the game itself. The game appears fast-paced, brutal, and dark. Even from the trailer, Thymesia carries with it the spirit of Bloodborne and yet still provides the excitement of something new. We can only hope it’s worth the wait. But, we will just have to be patient until 2022 to learn more.

The game will be released on Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and Steam sometime in 2022.
