The Ezio Collection may get a Switch Release According to Rumor

Italy on the go

Ubisoft’s iconic franchise Assassin’s Creed may be getting another Switch port. Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is allegedly coming to the Nintendo Switch soon according to recent rumors.

Assassin's Creed Games

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection contains three games and a few shorts that are all integral to the lore of the series. The three games included are Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Every game in this trilogy stars the titular Ezio Auditore as the story takes you through the life of Ubisoft’s most iconic Assassin.

The rumor stems from Twitter user Direct Feed Games who tweeted about it a few days ago. The rumor is mostly conjecture but not completely baseless. Direct Feed Games doesn’t have any proof to back up the rumor. No screenshots, no quotations or even any sources are mentioned at all. Direct Feed Games has, however, proven themselves to be a reliable source countless times in the past. Still, take this rumor with a grain of salt.

Another factor that helps prove the legitimacy of this rumor is Ubisoft and Nintendo’s relationship. There are already a large number of Ubisoft titles either ported to or natively released on Nintendo consoles. Some of these titles are even in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Assassin’s Creed: The Rebel Collection came to the Switch back in 2019. The collection includes Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed: Rogue.

Nintendo has been building up its arsenal of third-party titles since the Switch’s launch. With games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Overwatch, it seems that Nintendo isn’t messing around in the third party game. Nintendo getting more entries from one of gaming’s most beloved franchises is not only a very believable decision but a logical one as well.
