Pokémon GO Tour Johto Live Event Announced

Pokémon GO Tour Johto Live Event Locations Revealed

The first-ever Pokémon GO Tour: Live event is taking place on February 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. This will follow the Pokémon GO Tour: Johto in-game event the weekend before. The event will take place in three new cities across the world.

These new locations include Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico, the Taiwan Lantern Festival in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Yas Bay in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This is a ticketed event, with tickets priced at $25 USD.

The event will center around exclusive gameplay opportunities and in-person activities and rewards. Therefore, there will be real-world themed habitats, ExtraSpecial Trades, free Raid Passes, Special Research and more. There will also be in-game bonuses such as reduced hatching distance and extra candy. In the real world, trainers can enjoy photo ops, lounge areas and exclusive merchandise.

This all coincides with Pokémon GO’s Johto event, which celebrates the release of Pokémon Gold and Silver. This event focuses on Pokémon from the Johto region, each with a shiny version now available. This means some will a shiny version for the first time in the game. In addition, this event includes Special Research tasks and more as these events usually do.

This will be only the second in-person live event Pokémon GO has hosted since the pandemic’s onset. This follows the 2021 Go Fest which resumed after a year hiatus in July. There have been countless in-person events for the augmented reality game that help Niantic continually blur the lines between the game and reality. So it is good to see in-person events becoming the norm again.

If you are in or near one of these locations, be sure to check the Pokémon GO Tour: Live event next February. Which Johto Pokémon did you choose to be your starter?
