King Of Fighters XV Has Announced Team Heroine Along With A New Character Trailer
King of Fighters, developed by SNK, started as arcade games and grew in popularity across the world over the years. SNK announced that King of Fighters XV is scheduled for release within the first quarter of 2022 for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. As the release date approaches, SNK have released some further information on the cast of available fighters.
The company has unveiled the character trailer for Athena Asamiya and have confirmed the formation of Team Heroine, consisting of Asamiya, Mai Shiranui and Yuri Sakazaki. King of Fighters XV will continue the legacy of the series with the return of 3v3 team battles. Each team will have their own storyline and ending, giving players the opportunity to explore each team through their journeys.
Athena Asamiya is a pop idol who fights evil as she seeks to bring peace to the world. Her fighting style incorporates Kung Fu, which she learned growing up, along with her psychic powers. Her character’s personality is serious yet polite. In this iteration, she has teamed up with two familiar, yet different characters.
Mai Shiranui is a kunoichi and successor of the Shiranui style of martial arts. She has mastered using large fans as weapons and uses her graceful movement to defeat her enemies. On the other hand, Yuri Sakazaki has managed to learn deadly techniques only one year after joining the Kyokugenryu Dojo. She has joined the fight to prove her skills to her older brother, Ryo Sakazaki.
