Pokemon Go Has a Ton of Events Scheduled For March

Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto May Be Over But the Season of Legends Continues

If we had to pick one thing Pokemon Go is good at–and believe us, it would be a very tough choice–we’d have to pick raising the bar for itself. This little mobile game has gone above and beyond in its determination to stay relevant in the post-pandemic world. Over 600 Pokemon to catch, Community Day specials, linkage with Pokemon Home, event after event culminating in the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto, it’s had everything. But what we expect from Pokemon Go for the remainder of the month? Here’s a rundown of everything that’s currently scheduled for March.

The March Community Day has come and gone, unfortunately. It focused on the adorable tiny robin Pokemon, Fletchling, so congratulations if your box is currently packed full of them. We hope you got some shinies. But you know what else happened early this month and could still affect your play? A new season kicked into gear on March 1st. Pokemon Go is moving away from the standard four-season line-up (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) in favor of something more creative. December 1st to March 1st was the Season of Celebration and we’re now moving into the Season of Legends. You know what that means: another Legendary trio is making their debut! Therian Forme Tornadus, Therian Forme Thundurus, and Therian Forme Landorus will be released soon. We can’t wait to catch–er, meet them. Yes.

If that’s not enough to get you excited, then stay tuned for Weather Week beginning on March 24th. Shiny Rainy Castform will make its first appearance, wild Pokemon that adore wind and rain will come out to play, the raid pool will be shuffled around, and a ton of new research will appear. Also, Therian Forme Thundurus will be replaced by Therian Forme Tornadus at the end of the event, so catch Thundurus while you have the chance. March 28th will bring the Festival of Colors event to players from India, boasting a ton of brightly colored Pokemon. Finally, Niantic promises: “A Special Raid Weekend event featuring Legendary Pokémon will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2021, through Sunday, March 28, 2021.”
