Kojima Productions May Be Composing New Music

Ludvig Forssell Teasing a New Project

According to Kojima Productions audio director and composer Ludvig Forssell, production on a new project is underway. The project is undisclosed, but the composer has officially returned to work for the first time since COVID, sharing his enthusiasm in a recent Twitter post. Since the original post, Forssell has clarified that it’s for an unrelated project, but because Kojima Productions has recently confirmed that it’s staffing up for a new game project it’s possible that the composer will remain busy moving forward. Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding is available right now for PS4 and PC.

First ‘COVID recording’ this year (for undisclosed project). Super happy with the results!” tweeted Ludvig Forssell alongside a photo of the studio. After speculation on what game Forssell is composing a soundtrack for, he further clarified by saying, “Woah, woah, woah. People need to calm their horsie-poos; this is a side-project I’m working on, not related to KJP. I am stoked about this one though!” Forssell was one of many former Konami staff who followed Hideo Kojima to Kojima Productions and he worked on the widely popular Death Stranding soundtrack.

Eagle-eyed Kojima Productions fans think they have spotted Hideo Kojima himself in the photo shared by Ludvig Forssell, but Forssell continues to deny that it’s for a Kojima Productions game specifically and Kojima hasn’t spoken on the matter yet. Regardless of what his upcoming project is, we’re looking forward to hearing Ludvig Forssell’s next composition. Considering both Kojima Productions has confirmed they’re working on a new game, and Forssell having a history with Hideo Kojima, a lot of fans are speculating that the composer is working on the soundtrack for a sequel to Death Stranding.
